I am lucky to be married to Anika Kafi Summers, and we are proud to be residents of Detroit, where we recently purchased and fixed up a home. We’re expecting our first child, a boy, in early 2006. On my way to becoming a professional grant writer, I served as an AmeriCorps member, worked as a social worker and union organizer, and hiked from Georgia to Maine on the two thousand mile Appalachian Trail.
